Extending Value Through Refining
Anchored by our refinery operations at Ogbele, our downstream business supports domestic supply and strengthens Aradel’s participation across the energy value chain through refining and related activities.
Aradel Refineries
At the heart of Aradel’s downstream business is the Ogbele Modular Refinery, a three-train, 11,000 barrels-per-day facility. The operation spans the complete downstream value chain — crude distillation, conversion, product blending, storage, and onward distribution and marketing — turning upstream barrels into fuels and feedstock that reach end users across Nigeria.
The refinery delivers five products:
- Automotive Gas Oil (AGO) — diesel for transport, industry, and power generation, and the refinery’s flagship output.
- Household Kerosene (HHK) — a domestic cooking and lighting fuel for Nigerian households.
- Marine Diesel Oil (MDO) — a mid-distillate fuel for marine engines and offshore vessels.
- High-Pour Fuel Oil (HFO) — a heavy residual fuel used in industrial boilers, furnaces, and marine power.
- Naphtha — a light distillate used as petrochemical feedstock and a gasoline blending component.
The refinery is a key asset within Aradel’s portfolio and a practical demonstration of the Group’s integrated energy model.
