Upstream

Our upstream operations span a portfolio of operated and partner assets that support exploration, field development and production across key hydrocarbon resources in Nigeria.

Driving Value Across Our Upstream Assets

From wholly operated assets like OML 53 to strategic interests in OML 34 and OPL 227, our upstream portfolio combines operational control, partnership-led development and long-term resource potential. This mix strengthens our production base and positions Aradel to create value across a diverse asset portfolio.

PML 14 (Ogbele Field)

The Ogbele Marginal Field, located in Rivers State, is Aradel’s flagship asset, covering an area of 22.53 square kilometers. The company acquired the Ogbele Marginal Field, situated within PML 14, from the NNPC/Chevron Joint Venture (JV) in 2000, operating it as a sole-risk venture. This acquisition marked the first-ever Marginal Oil Field Farm-Out Agreement negotiated in Nigeria between a multinational/NNPC joint venture and a Nigerian independent company.

Oil production commenced in November 2005, and in 2010, a 1,000 barrels per day diesel topping plant was installed. Since then, the field has evolved into a fully integrated oil and gas-producing asset, achieving the milestone of 20 years of continuous production
